The fireballs of the very first Street Fighter were yellow, but when the sequel hit the arcades it had changed to a cool blue. The games achieved enormous success so the Hadoken we now know and love is traditionally thought of as being blue. Strangely enough, Ryu would throw a red Hadoken every now and then. It wasn't until Super Street Fighter II that Ryu players could intentionally set opponents alight with the red one.

Dedicated fans know it as Shakunetsu Hadoken.
